Ways to calm your anxiety when meeting a new client

Today we are talking about ways you can calm your anxiety when you are working and meeting with new clients.

Anxiety is a fairly common condition, I know all too well, because I have suffered from it and I still get so anxious before a big job, or meeting new clients. So, here are our top 7 tips on calming your anxiety……

1: Identify why you are anxious and work on the root cause of your anxiety, is it because you are afraid to make a mistake, or because you are highly passionate? Knowing why your feeling the way your feeling, can help you on managing it.

2: Ask your employer for treatment options and see what health benefits they provide, having a professional can help you manage your anxiety.

3: Ensure that you are doing a job that suits your personality and values. There is no point working with people if you are a deeply introverted person and you can’t handle ‘peopling’ As simple as it may sound, working in the right job can really help reduce your anxiety, stress and burnout.

4: Look at alternatives such as aromatherapy oils and crystals, these can really help people. I gave my sister a bracelet and oils gift set for her birthday, she said it really has helped her and she would have never thought of it!

5: Prepare yourself, if you get sweaty (I really do) Layer up, so then you can reduce your clothing to help you have a moment and to feel cooler, or alternatively dress in cooler linen white clothes. Make sure you have time to go to the bathroom before and after your meeting, so you can have a minute to gather yourself, and plan to do something that you feel relaxing after work to help you to wind down.

6: Do the general things like avoiding caffeine, alcohol, taking  brief walk outdoors, hydrating yourself and eating healthy snacks.

7: Journalling, this is such a helpful tool, writing out your feelings. Our mental health journals might be perfect for you! Check them out in our shop.

We hope this post gives you the information you need to feel inspired, empowered and educated.
